About

Melbourne based singer songwriters The Millards (Kirsten Boerema & Michael Timcke) explore the poetry of Aussie country towns in their original songs inspired from their many years living in small communities. Kirsten, hailing from the banks of the Swan River in Perth, Western Australia and Michael, from the salt plains of Kerang in Victoria have come to country folk music later in life having been secondary school music teachers for many years. Both discovered their love of writing  songs while camping on the Murray River, kicking back and watching the river flow. With a nod to Revivalist fire and brimstone, haunting yodels of yesteryear and slow summer days on the verandah, The Millards take you on a journey through the landscape of beauty and hardship faced in everyday country life. With close harmonies and beautifully crafted melodies, The Millards sing their hearts out with their homegrown voice.
